The endearing community of Fairhope Alabama is located across Mobile Bay about 25 minutes southeast of central Mobile. New residents from around the world are lured by the artsy, small-town ambience and friendly neighborhoods of real estate in Fairhope.

Fairhope AL homes for sale are located in Baldwin County. Mobile homebuyers look to buy Fairhope homes for access to outstanding schools and well-organized recreational programs, a vibrant arts community, low cost of living, and exceptional public and senior services. Founded in 1894 by a group of visionaries looking for a "fair hope of success," today Fairhope real estate on tree-lined streets nestles up to a bustling downtown and generous parks.

Over time the emphasis shifted, turning Fairhope into a boutique resort and affluent suburb. Gorgeous flowers, fishing, swimming, sailing, and boating along the coastline make Fairhope popular for families and retirees, visitors and seasonal residents, include artists and intellectuals. Memories linger of lovely downtown Fairhope, the Pier at the Bay, and the area's cherubic oaks and magnolias.

Approximately 13,000 residents enjoy homes in Fairhope neighborhoods such as Bay Haven, Bonbay Shores, Jackson, Lake Forest, Moorehaven Village, Overton Place, Polo Ridge, Riverside Farm Estates, Silverhill, Summer Crest, and The Waters at Fairhope.

Fairhope's unparalleled recreational facilities include parks and piers, gardens and trails, boat ramps and more. The new Quayle Creek Golf Course is an attractive and challenging 18-hole facility with 3 legs and dozens of sand traps. The property includes a pro shop with snacks and grill. In addition, the Eastern Shore Trail passes along the Mobile Bay waterfront from Mobile in the north to Mullet Point Park located south of the city.

Knoll Park, Fairhopers' Community Park, Fels Toddler Park, Fairhope Municipal Sporting Parks, Volanta Sports Park, Skate Park, and Dog Park begin the list of public facilities. Others include the Fairhope Recreation Center, Marietta Johnson Botanical Garden and Tree Trail, Beach Park Tree Trail, Fairhope Disc Golf Course, and to public boat ramps.

Fairhope started as a utopian single-tax colony by parties who formed Fairhope Single-Tax Corporation.  They pooled their funds to purchase land at Stapleton's pasture and divided it into long-term lease holds. It still operates with 1800 leaseholds on 4,000 acres. Educator Marietta Johnson founded the School for Organic Education made notable by John Dewey in his 1915 book, School of Tomorrow.

The Daphne and Fairhope school districts serve families living in Fairhope Alabama.
